Thrice

Afternoon gents. It's a lovely 9pm right now, 3 there, and I've (Stephen) caught a cold.

From 9am, Cari and I undertook a journey across the entire first and second districts of London. We were assigned to gather series of information from various major points around the center of the city. Our endurance through bitter winds and scorching blisters (after some fifteen miles of walking in flat work-boots) brought us to Westminster Abby, Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament,  Harrods, and several colossally crowded squares. We also obtained a mastery of the Underground. After a brief rest, the professors swept us once more to the tubes. However, rather than spending six hours of walking and train navigation, we were rewarded with Fish n' Chips at The Shakespeare Head Tavern. A particularly fiendish fish bone caused me a few minutes of trouble (and a scratched throat), but the 'chips,' fries, were perhaps some of the tastiest fried potatoes I've ever had. Yet by the end of the meal, my weariness had caught up with me. Rather than join friends for at the now regularly attended Cornwallis, I returned to our flat to kick off the boots, watch some tube, and acquire some much needed rest.

Several options lay before us tomorrow for morning worship. The professors are organizing a trip to the 'Bloomsbury Baptist,' but the weather may not allow a two mile walk (horrible winds and shearing rain). The historic 'St. Paul's Church,' also known as the Actor's Church, is celebrating the conversion of St. Paul tomorrow with a feast after the service. Yet, I'm not sure if the weather will allow the endeavor to arrive there.

As for finding a pipe-puffer's heaven (Adam) I've come up short. London has become primarily against smoking. A few little shops (quite scattered) throughout the immense city still produce a few of the quality tobaccos England was once renown for. I passed one during the district tour Cari mentioned in the previous post, yet I haven't made back. As fate would have it, I was able to grab an ounce of Scottish Blend from 'The Leaf' before our departure.

Pictures and the like will be updated soon. Until then, know my love and farewell.

Scottish blend in the middle of London, eh? Maybe you should snag yourself some Irish coffee as well.

Sounds like a lot of walking, man. You should look into a bike -- this chap has one for 35 pounds.

Also, your going to miss the tax deadline! Don't forget to either do your taxes or file for an extension.

It's good to hear from you. Glad you're having fun. Keep the updates coming.

Dear Stephen and Cari Cumby, oh how I dream of both of you so.

Soon when the battle of armageddon comes and apocalypse is upon us, global travel will not be a realistic possibility for anyone.

Therefor exalt in the adventure you have both undertaken in far-away lands in the cradle of western civilization.

I hope your journeys together only deepen your love for each other in Christ.

Your brother,

Justin Zode
